The DOLP Method for Getting Out of Debt

WalletPop features the "new" DOLP Method from David Bach in his book Debt Free For Life: The Finish Rich Plan for Financial Freedom (FYI, DOLP stands for  "done on last payment.") Here's basically how it works: Step #1: You list all your debts. Step #2: You take each debt's balance owed and divide it by the minimum payment. This gives you the number (which is the DOLP number) of months it will take you to pay off a debt (excluding interest.) So if you have a $ 2,000 debt and your minimum payment is $ 50 per month, your DOLP… Read the whole article...

But out in the taxable world, there are several good reasons why you should have your dividends paid to cash and then reinvest… Read the whole article...

Managing Money, Time, Energy, and Information: Five Powerful Tactics from My Own Recent Experience

Earlier this month, Sarah returned to her work after an eight month unpaid maternity leave. Her return changed the flow of things around our house. The future interest is calculated based on the current principal, so that means they're having him paying extra interest that would have never accrued if they had subtracted his payment correctly! By the way, publishing sibling Consumer Reports ran a few statistical models and found that you're probably better off financially putting extra money in a… Read the whole article...
