$50 Bonus on a ING Direct IRA Account

Your Ad Here
ING Direct is offering a $ 50 sign up bonus when you open an IRA (Roth or Traditional) savings or CD account and deposit $ 200 by February 7th. Not sure how great an idea it is to invest your IRA contributions into a savings account for the long term, but getting a 25% return (via the bonus) in 2011 is enticing. You can always rollover your assets to another IRA account in the future. If you are already an ING account owner it is very easy to open your account. We opened one for my wife in less than… Read the whole article...

Extra 10% Bonus On Lowe’s Gift Cards $500 & Up

Lowe’s has an upcoming promotion called their Tax Refund Card. Starting 2/8, if you buy a card with value of $ 500 to $ 4,000 – supposedly with your tax refund but they can’t tell and don’t care – then on 3/18 you’ll get an additional 10% of the initial purchase price on the card. Ends 3/14. Not bad if you’re already planning on shopping there. I’ll probably wait until March to see if I really need it, just hope they don’t pull the promotion. Here is the link for the Tax Refund Card and a YouTube video explaining… Read the whole article...

PenFed Eliminating Bonus Cash Back on Groceries

Hmmm… I just ran across some bad news related to the PenFed cash back credit card. Here’s the scoop: Effective March 1, 2011, PenFed will no long offer 2% cash back for supermarket purchases. You will continue to earn 5% cash back on gas purchases made at the pump and 1% on everything else, including your supermarket purchases. If you have any questions, please contact us at 800-247-5626 seven days a week or PenFed.org. Bummer. The 5% cash back on gas is still a good deal, especially since there are no spending tiers, but this will otherwise end up being… Read the whole article...

Sallie Mae Bank Review

Sallie Mae, normally known for their federal and private student loans, is entering the savings account area with a high yield savings account currently offering 1.35% APY with no monthly fees and no minimums. It’s your standard online bank offering with a pretty standard savings account rates. In scanning their list of offerings, the only thing that stands out is their 10% bonus for Upromise earnings, which can be substantial if you’re a big user of Upromise. Why Sallie Mae? I’ve been racking my brain to come up with an explanation of why Sallie Mae has started to offer… Read the whole article...

Chase Sapphire Really Has No Phone Tree or Hold Times

I applied for the Chase Sapphire card primarily - okay, solely - for the $100 sign-up bonus. But when I called with a question about how to redeem, I was actually startled that a human being picked on the second ring. No phone tree to navigate, no punching in my dang 16 digit number first… I didn’t even have to press 0 several times. Now that I read their website again, I do see the sentence mentioning “direct access to dedicated live advisors”. It appears I’m not the only one to notice this: <blockquote ...
